On its recent move to larger premises, the French cinema image and lighting equipment hire group TSF planned for a large projection room that would be fully compatible with traditional film and high definition video, with no compromises. Le Cercle Rouge (as it is known) has an 11.2 metre screen and a 16 kW ShowMax sound reproduction system based on a Yamaha DME64N processor.
It’s an old cliché, but the saying ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ often proves to be true. Especially so, in the case of the Roxy Bar and Screen, an innovative bar-cum-cinema near London’s Borough Market.
Founded in September 1986, Finnkino Oy operates many cinemas across Finland, as well as in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. With a current total of around 150 screens, the company is rapidly expanding and developing its cinema services, both by building new venues and refurbishing existing ones. The intention is to offer the very best in comfort and audio-visual technology.
To achieve the latter, Yamaha amplifiers are naturally at the heart of all the company’s installations, providing cinema goers with the ultimate sound quality that they rightly expect.
When DTS Europe were looking to equip the new preview theatre at their European headquarters, they needed speakers, signal processing and amplifiers which could provide not only studio-grade audio quality but also the power to deliver that extreme fidelity to a great number of listeners irrespective of where they were seated within the surround sound field in the theatre. In order to deliver this balance of quality and power, DTS had speakers designed and built by Procella Audio to meet their demanding specifications. When it came to the speaker processing and power amplifiers however, DTS chose the Yamaha DME64 Digital Mix Engine and XP Series power amplifiers. Premium audio quality and power - straight out of the box!
