"It’s fantastic," said Jason Courtney, Sound Designer for USP Radio Projects when asked if their new Yamaha 02R96 met his expectations. USP are using Yamaha’s versatile digital mixing desk to provide audio input and output on a number of in-house projects, particularly radio commercials."We’re running it in conjunction with Pro Tools and using a Control 24 to provide autorouting," he continued. Courtney has previous experience of Yamaha’s O3D and O2R desks and is delighted with the new additional features of the O2R96, particularly control access. "It has more buttons which means I can get at things quicker without the need to scroll through lots of pages." In fact the desk has so many features he hasn’t had time to try them all out yet! "But I certainly will," he said.USP’s chairman Rob Jones made the decision to buy Yamaha equipment when they brought in consultant Paul Robins to advise on a new studio. "We knew the O2R96 would give us the flexibility we needed," said Jones. USP provide a wide range of services for the radio broadcast industry from commercials to full programmes.Yamaha dealers Raper and Wayman provided the O2R96 and clearly everyone at USP is delighted with their new mixing desk. Fantastic!
