Yamaha Introduces the Tn series amplifiers, certified at 2 ohms by Underwriters Laboratories Inc and Intertek ETL SEMKO. Designed for driving line-array speakers and large scale touring and installed sound systems.
Yamaha Corporation has announced that its line of new flagship power amplifiers, the Tn series, has been certified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.®. The high power, low impedance amplifiers meet Underwriters Laboratories Inc.’s safety requirements; standards UL60065, 7th ed and CSA C22.2 No. 60065-03. The amplifiers were also certified for safety by Intertek ETL SEMKO to comply with standard EN60065:2002.
The Tn series, released in December of 2006, offers three models of high power amplifiers, capable of truly driving 2 ohm loads stably while attaining the finest sound quality yet in Yamaha amplifier history. The amplifiers’ ability to meet Underwriters Laboratories Inc.’s rigorous safety standards proves that “stable 2 ohm drive” is not just a phrase in the catalog, but ensures safety and quality in its operation, establishing the Tn series as the amplifier of choice for usage in all sorts of venues and applications.
Tn amplifiers passed UL.’s various tests which include investigation of component parts, construction, as well as operation behavior under normal and abnormal conditions. Tn amplifiers showed results surpassing UL.’s requirements under abnormal conditions of short circuited component parts, operation under one ohm, as well as many other severe operating conditions. UL’s standards of safety are well respected around the globe; In the US, certain situations require UL certification of products for insurance purposes. UL’s recognition of the Tn series amplifiers ensures maximum safety for use in situations where public safety is crucial. SEMKO is also an independent third-party organization which tests products for voluntary certification of safety for customers and consumers in Europe.
Developed to achieve superior sound quality under 2 ohm conditions, the Tn amplifiers are ideal amplifiers for driving line-array speakers and large scale sound systems, that touring and installations rely on, day in, day out.
